 IOLITE: is a popular and interesting gemstone, and is the gem variety of the mineral cordierite. It is a transparent, violet-blue; light blue; blue; or rich blue-violet that has often been compared to a Sapphire. For this reason it is also referred to as a "Water Sapphire". The name "Iolite" comes from the Greek word for "violet".

It is believed that Iolite is helpful in discovering the lost parts of one’s self and hidden inner talents. It is credited for being a stone of vision and creative expression. It is also said to help one to eliminate debt by accepting responsibility which leads to successful management of money as well as eliminating disharmory in relationships.  Iolite has been historically worn by Shamans in the past to insure the accuracy of their visions.
